Couples Therapy That Doesn't Just Referee Your Arguments
Whether you're dealing with communication breakdowns, intimacy strain, or a specific rupture like infidelity, I offer active, direct couples therapy for relationships of every structure — monogamous, polyamorous, and everything in between.
How couples therapy works with me
A lot of couples therapy amounts to taking turns talking while a therapist nods. That's not how I work. Sessions are active and structured: we identify the actual pattern underneath your recurring conflict (not just the content of the latest fight), and I'll interrupt, redirect, and give direct feedback when it's useful — rather than letting the same unproductive argument play out in my office.
I work with couples on communication breakdowns, intimacy and sexual concerns, infidelity and trust repair, and the specific dynamics of non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, which many therapists aren't trained or comfortable addressing without judgment.
If your concern is more specifically about sex, desire, or a particular rupture like infidelity or menopause-related change, my dedicated pages on those topics go into more depth on how I approach each one specifically.
- Relationship/couples sessions: $175/session, self-pay
- Works with any relationship structure: monogamous, ENM, polyamorous, and kink-identified

Questions about couples therapy
What partners ask before their first session.
Do you only work with married couples?
No — I work with any committed partnership, married or not, including long-term dating relationships and polyamorous or non-monogamous configurations with more than two partners.
What if only one of us wants to come to therapy?
That's common, and still useful. Individual sessions can help you get clarity on the relationship, and sometimes that work naturally opens the door to joint sessions later.
Is couples therapy covered by insurance?
Relationship-focused sessions are typically self-pay at $175/session, since most insurance plans don't cover couples/relationship treatment codes. Individual sessions can often be billed through Aetna or BCBS/Florida Blue.
How many sessions does couples therapy usually take?
It depends entirely on what you're working through — some couples see meaningful shifts in a handful of sessions, others engage in longer-term work, especially after infidelity or significant trust repair.
Most couples wait too long to start.
A consultation is a low-pressure way to see if this approach fits you both.
